We had a great off-season break here. The coastal and forest walks nearby are lovely, and the staff were friendly. It was so quiet that we practically had the spa to ourselves. Our room was nicely equipped with a balcony, though there were no tea or coffee facilities. The food was the one letdown. I really liked the gnocchi, but my partner's fish was dry and quite tough. On our second night we walked 10-15 minutes into the village for a delicious meal.

The setting is what made our stay at Schloss Ranzow special. Perched on the cliffs near the Baltic Sea, it has wonderful views, a peaceful feel, and direct access to lovely walking and cycling routes. The golf course and surrounding scenery are highlights too, and it's a good choice if you want nature and quiet away from mass tourism. Our room was comfortable, and the property has a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere. The service didn't quite match the room rates, though. Reception wasn't staffed around the clock, housekeeping came only every other day during our stay, and breakfast felt average compared with hotels in a similar price range. We had hoped for more comprehensive service. Schloss Ranzow is a lovely place to visit for the scenery and calm, but it felt more like a high-quality country hotel than a luxury hotel. We'd come back for the location and tranquility, with some room for improvement in hospitality and service.
