Teschendorfer Landgasthof

The restaurant has a great atmosphere. My wife and I finally stopped in on a midweek drive along the B96 after passing it many times. The owner looked quite serious, but I figured she was probably stressed; she doesn't have to smile all the time. I had the roast beef and my wife got the pepper steak, and both were absolutely delicious. They arrived piping hot on hot plates, which doesn't always happen. Many thanks to this family business. Keep it up!

The meal was okay, though nothing special, and the prices are fairly low. I'd happily pay more for fresh ingredients and a pleasant atmosphere. This just isn't what I picture when I think of a country inn. Hospitality was completely missing. A greeting and goodbye shouldn't be hard, but apparently they're not standard here.

It was our first visit, midweek, and we were the only guests. We also felt unwelcome, at least by the woman. The room was left completely unlit, and the weather meant we couldn't sit outside. The food was okay, but the frozen vegetables were very soft, as others have said, and the meal came unusually quickly. My husband had to pour his own beer too, as someone else has mentioned.

The pike-perch with parsley sauce made up for a lot. There was a little less fish than I'd like, but it tasted very good. I can't judge the cleanliness because the restaurant was too dark, and I wouldn't recommend the place. There was no warmth or friendliness. I said hello when I came in, and the guests and the manager behind the counter replied. She had been washing glasses and looked bored. At 7:30 p.m. there were only seven guests, counting me. The room itself has a gloomy seventies feel, and my beer arrived in a glass with the bottle beside it, so, as an eight-year-old woman, I had to pour it myself. I don't know what friendliness is supposed to look like here. But this is the only restaurant around, so I had to eat there. I've still got 200 km to drive.
