Hotel Deitscher Kaiser gave us and both our pets, our dog and cat, such a warm welcome. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was among the nicest and most polite we've had. Five out of five for everything. Thanks for making us feel welcome!

We had a lovely stay with our child, who was under two. The room was spacious and nice, and the sea view was amazing. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the room stayed nice and warm in winter. Fully recommend it, and we'd come back.

We picked this hotel for its closeness to the train station and the Travemünde ferry port, and we walked from the station. After a long day on the train, we checked in late. We needed an early start for the ferry, so the receptionist made a note and opened the breakfast room half an hour early for us. She also called a cab for 7 a.m., which was perfect. We were there in winter, so we can only imagine how charming this oceanside spot is in warm weather. The rooms were large, the plumbing modern, and the WiFi steady enough.

The waterfront setting in the heart of Old town Travemuende is hard to beat. It's close to the water, with plenty of chances to watch and photograph the big ships, and shops all around. The price felt reasonable for an upscale stay. The rooms and suites have been fully upgraded and are modern and comfortable. Service was great and accommodating. The included breakfast buffet had loads of choice: different breads and pastries, two kinds of eggs, bacon pieces, bouletten, little sausages, fresh and cut fruit, yogurt and quark, lots of cheeses and meats, pickled or smoked fish, vegetables, juices, and champagne.
