The hotel is close to the old town’s main sights, plus playgrounds, restaurants, cafés, ice cream, and a grocery store. From the front steps it feels like a medieval fairy tale. Our family room worked perfectly for the children, aged 4 and 7: they had an adjoining room with their own TV and a door we could close, so they could go to bed early and watch TV on their own in the morning. There was a nice foyer, the rooms were spacious, and the balcony was a special bonus. Everything was clean, and breakfast was very good. We enjoyed the scrambled and boiled eggs, the variety of cured meats, bread, cheeses, yogurt, and cereal, and the warm buns straight from the oven were irresistible. The food was high quality, with a good number of vegan options, and I was glad to find poultry salami. My birthday was on our last day, and the staff surprised us with a special treat. That kind of service makes me look forward to coming back. Parking was the awkward part. Although the booking app suggested parking was available, the hotel didn’t offer us a space and sent us to a public lot an 8 minute walk away. We had to pay 8€ in coins before 10 a.m. each morning. It wasn’t ideal, but we were glad to have an option, and the price was right. I was disappointed that there was no kettle or coffee maker in the room. I asked for tea at the lovely coffee machine and hot water dispenser in the lobby, and was given some; nobody mentioned a charge, and I saw no prices posted. When I used the machine again, one of the owners helped me and still didn’t mention a price. At checkout, there was a tea charge on the bill. A price needs to be agreed to as part of a contract. If the room had had a kettle, I would have bought tea at the grocery store across the street. The stay was otherwise so good that I’d absolutely recommend the hotel, but watch out for the lobby drinks.

The rooms are very clean, though the bed was just OK. It’s a little pricey, and the hotel is spread across several buildings, so you may need to walk to reach the lobby and breakfast room. The highlight for me was breakfast, thanks to the wonderful staff who were so attentive and friendly.

Right in the town center, and they have parking, which is a premium in downtown German cities. The rooms were clean, the staff super friendly, and breakfast was good with vegan options.

The rooms were fresh and clean, with plenty of space and a big bathroom. The hotel is very well placed in the center of the old town, close to the main bus road, so getting a room away from the road solves that.

The rooms are simple, but they were spotless and had what we needed. Reception was especially good, welcoming, helpful and very professional. There’s a bistro downstairs for drinks, pizza, salad or soup, and parking is a couple of minutes away, though you can leave the car on the street briefly too. A great base for exploring Lubeck, and I’d happily recommend it.
