Hotel Soldwisch

This was our fourth time staying here, but this year left us extremely disappointed. The owner was very unfriendly, though he didn’t specify a time of day. We had our two-year-old daughter with us, and she was included in the booking. When we mentioned his rudeness on our departure day, he replied, “You just sneak your child through here, and she sits with you at breakfast (half a roll and an egg) without us paying for it.” It’s a shame someone could be so unfriendly to children. We’ll never stay there again.

The friendly staff made sure we were well looked after at breakfast each morning, and we had everything we needed. The spacious parking lot behind the hotel costs just €3 a day, a bargain for the area. Although Hotel "Soldwisch" is set back in the second row, the Trave River is only about a two-minute walk away. Our long weekend was relaxing from booking right through to checkout, and we explored the lovely Travemünde surroundings with fresh energy each day. We were completely satisfied and would definitely choose Hotel "Soldwisch" first if we return to Travemünde.

We’ve been returning for years and feel almost at home at the family-run Soldwisch. It’s unassuming from outside, on a side street, but the old town and ferry to Priwall are only a few steps away, making it a good place for a relaxing Baltic Sea holiday. There are more luxurious, modern and better-equipped hotels in Travemünde, but feeling comfortable is what matters to us. The rooms are practical and comfortable, and the friendly service at the breakfast buffet, with its wide selection, makes for a lovely start to the day.

Clean rooms, a lovely breakfast and very reasonable prices made for a wonderful short break. Many thanks to Olga and the lovely woman at breakfast and reception. We’ll definitely be back soon. Britta and Martin
