Lübecker Krönchen

We had a pleasant stay, and the people were very nice. Breakfast was simple but good. Our room had the usual things like a minibar for an extra charge, a document safe, a microwave and a kettle. It's a real palace, and the owners have done a lot to preserve how it looks. The building is a historical monument, so you need to know what you're getting into and decide whether the inconveniences are okay for you. Their website explains quite a bit. The two main issues are the high stairs and no elevator, and no climate control in the rooms. There are radiators when it's cold, but the lack of air conditioning could be tough in hot weather.

We spent one night at Lübecker Krönchen in the Heaven on Earth room. The room was amazing, an experience in itself, and the breakfast was well organized and delicious. The couple who run the B&B are lovely hosts, and you can see and feel how much care they've put into the building. The castle sits in the middle of an industrial area, so bear that in mind. It didn't bother us, though. Our room was peaceful, with no outside noise. The beautiful castle and lovely owners made the stay worthwhile.

We stumbled across this hotel when we needed a break, and even one night in a place full of lovely details helped us recharge. The owners are super friendly, and the castle dog Lilly was my highlight, so cute. Keep an eye out, too, and you might spot the castle ghost. We'll be back.

The style of the house takes you back to fairy tales and the early days of European civilization. It brings together luxury and peace with a couple who take great care of you and their professional staff. It's lovely in summer, and also well placed for the Christmas market and other POIs in Lübeck, so you can enjoy it any time of year. Anett and Peter used to run a nice farmhouse for guests and married lots of young couples on the east coast of S-H. Now they've found this lovely place in Lübeck, which feels perfect.
