The hotel sits at the southern end of the pedestrian precinct, with everything you might need an easy walk away. My room had a lovely charm, and its furnishings suited the building’s rustic feel. I only saw staff twice, so I can’t say much about service, but both times they were lovely and very helpful. I could have used a desk. There was a bathtub, though I personally don’t care about having one. Definitely worth a stay.

The town is beautiful, and the hotel and rooms were fantastic, with perfect cleanliness and just the right size. They even left complimentary water and Haribo packs 🥰. Check-in was easy with the key box outside and the code in the message. We arrived after reception had closed, so checkout worked the same way: enter the code, drop the keys, and that was it. The receptionist was really friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good selection and great coffee, and there’s a bakery just outside with food to eat in or take away for fussier eaters. I’d definitely return. One tip if you’re using sat nav: don’t drive into the little one-way street. It gets you to the hotel for unloading, but the car park is on the other side, and the little street ends in a dead end 😉

Whenever I visit the photo exhibition, I make a point of stopping by this restaurant. It’s a typical Westphalian brewhouse, with quite good food and a nice range of freshly tapped beer.

Parking is hard to find at this old-style city center hotel. The breakfast was good, and the service was perfect German service.
