Zur Mühle Ophoven

The pizzas were very tasty, while the soups were only average at best. We sent the lasagna back and weren’t charged for it. Drinks, including wine, beer, and water, cost less than at similar restaurants. The dining rooms have been renovated beautifully, the welcome was friendly, and service was quick. Restrooms were clean. The hotel is separate from the restaurant.

We went as a group of four yesterday and all of us enjoyed the meal, from the starters right through to dessert. The staff were warm and attentive, and everyone left satisfied. There’s also a piano you can play, which was a fun bonus. A lovely visit, highly recommended.

Set in the old mill in Wassenberg-Ophoven, this new Italian restaurant has a menu with lots of options to suit different tastes. The food is excellent, the staff are very friendly, and everything we tried, desserts included, felt authentically Italian. We’ll definitely return.

Everything was clean and tidy, but for the price I expected more. There wasn’t even a coffee machine, and nobody was there during the listed check-in hours. Instead, I got a call while travelling and was told where to find the key. It’s really just somewhere to sleep if you’re self-catering. There’s an Italian snack bar nearby, and breakfast is available at the Kamps bakery café inside the EDEKA supermarket in Wassenberg.
