Post Hotel Mittenwald

The hotel sits right in the heart of town, and one entrance opens straight onto the pedestrian street by the church. The rooms are clean and spacious. The town gets quiet after dark, so it was very peaceful. Breakfast was included and had a nice variety, as was access to the sauna with water beds. It made for a relaxing evening.

The location is great, right in the center and five minutes from the station. Rooms are spacious and clean, though a bit dated and dimly lit. There was no coffee, tea or kettle in the room, but staff kindly brought them when asked. Our low-floor room was a little noisy. Breakfast was hearty with a good spread, and the staff were very helpful despite having lots of guests.

The wellness area was lovely and peaceful, and I really enjoyed it. Breakfast was very good too, and the staff were gentle and lovely.

This is my favourite hotel in Germany so far, even though I’ve travelled there many times. Mittenwald is beautiful from every angle, and the hotel is right in the city center. The building and rooms have a vintage feel with modern amenities, and every room has a balcony for taking in the views. Breakfast is extensive, and there are lots of shared spaces with different views and atmospheres. There’s a fireplace, though it wasn’t on during my summer visit. The minibar is included in the price, which I’ve never seen before, and all the amenities are free. The sauna is divine, with a temperature-controlled glass-door pool, three modern sauna rooms and a relaxation area with swings, comfy sofas and throws. I could have stayed there. The service is what makes the place stand out. The staff are friendly and always try to help. After checkout, I came back drenched to collect my stored luggage, and they let me use the sauna without hesitation. I felt they really put guest happiness first, and I’ll definitely return.
