The scenery around Forellenzucht is still as beautiful as ever, and the grounds are nice, though they're beginning to show some neglect. It’s sad to see what used to be a warm, welcoming, lively hotel, restaurant, and trout farm heading this way. The town’s other places to stay seem to have spent a lot to maintain a good standard. I hope someone does the same for Forellenzucht one day. The new owner hasn’t invested in renovations, especially in the rooms, and there are very few staff on hand.

The trout farm is set in lovely forest, and lunch was fantastic. We called ahead, and they opened the restaurant just for us. The trout was delicious, and the staff were so helpful. They even took time to show our son how to fillet his fish. I’d strongly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

A great choice if you’re into fish. The trout and salmon are delicious. Chicken can be prepared too, if you ask ahead.

The trout was fantastic, both the fish we ate for dinner there and the ones we took home. Everything else was excellent too. Thanks, Florian and your team.

The pan-fried potatoes were a real treat, and the trout was cooked fresh. The place itself looked a little run down.
