Dorint Herrenkrug Parkhotel Magdeburg

Room size, service, and sauna were good. The food was bland, even by German standards. The pool looked nice, but it was dirty, and the beds were old and hard.

I booked a double room on the day we were due to stay and clearly asked for an extra bed for my son. At 4:00 PM on arrival day, the hotel emailed to say all the extra beds were being used in other rooms, so they couldn't provide one. I was driving all day and couldn't answer in time. Since the room wouldn't work for us and the notice came so late, I decided not to stay. I asked for a full refund for the no-show, but they refused, saying they wouldn't have been able to sell the room again. They should have called when I didn't respond to the email, especially if they knew earlier that no bed was available. That late communication left me without reasonable options or time to make other plans. I paid for something the hotel couldn't provide, and the refusal to refund me was frustrating. This was not a customer-first approach, and I wouldn't stay here again.

A lovely place to relax and unwind. The rooms are spacious and clean, and breakfast was amazing, with dozens of options to choose from. I'm adding a photo of my breakfast. The spa has a welcoming space with a jacuzzi and sauna, and there's a pool where you can stretch your spine while swimming. There are also lots of green areas for walks. Truly recommend 👍

The people at reception and in the restaurant were warm and professional, and made us feel especially welcome. The restaurant is lovely, particularly when you can sit outside on the terrace among all the greenery and flowers. The setting around the hotel is beautiful, too. The rooms were clean and roomy, but the walls, carpets, and bathroom seals could really use some attention.
