Garner Hotel Mannheim City

Adriano was a terrific ambassador for the hotel. He gave us a warm welcome, checked us in, answered our questions, and helped us in other ways with really friendly service. Our room for two nights was modern, clean, quiet, and comfortable. We came to Mannheim for the 2025 Christmas Markets after travelling by train from Strasbourg, France. From Mannheim Central Train Station, it was an easy walk of less than 15 minutes to the hotel. A great base for our Christmas Markets Tour through Europe.

The location worked well, close to the main railway station and plenty of places to eat. The little parking garage was a nice bonus and made things easier for me. My overnight stay was really good: clean, modern rooms, friendly staff, and a good breakfast. I’ll use this small hotel again.

The rooms are on the small side, though still fine for a short stay, and sound insulation could be better. It’s close to the main station. The hotel is new and in good shape, with great service and a good breakfast.

I cancelled my booking within two hours after realizing I’d made a mistake, then politely asked whether they might offer a full or partial refund as a goodwill gesture. They said the booking was strictly non-refundable. I understand policies exist, but I was disappointed by the rigid, impersonal response. A little flexibility or empathy would have felt like better customer service. The hotel’s public reply to my review was also unnecessarily harsh and dismissive. It focused on “my own booking error” instead of recognizing that I’d tried to sort things out politely. Even without staying there, the way a business speaks to potential guests says a lot about its values.
