There are lots of hiking and cycling trails nearby. Our renovated room was clean, and there’s a coffee machine at reception available 24/7. We only had breakfast, and it matched the hotel’s rating. Staff were happy to respond to our requests. I don’t understand the negative reviews: this is a 3 star hotel, yet some people seem to expect the service of a 5 star spa hotel.

I had a really pleasant stay here. It’s clean and affordable, with great food and staff. The location is right in the heart of the 'Thüringer Wald' and easy to reach. I’d recommend it to anyone!

The hotel is a little off the beaten track 😉. We were happy with the half-board: over four days there was enough variety, and the food was good. A playground, games room, table tennis, swimming pool, and sauna made for a relaxing holiday. The outside might not be a highlight and has a bit of a FDGB home charm, but the hotel has had a lot of renovation work and more is still underway.

It’s an older hotel, but it’s well maintained and partly modernized, so a few small cosmetic flaws are easy to overlook. I booked a single room and was given a lovely double at no extra charge. There’s bike storage with charging facilities, reception is friendly and helpful, and the value for money is unbeatable. The basement sauna is good, though functional rather than a spa area. A great option for an active holiday.
