Our top-floor maisonette was a lovely place to stay, right in the heart of Meiningen. It’s spacious, modernly furnished, and about 75 square meters, so it felt like home as soon as we arrived. Just be prepared for the stairs when carrying suitcases. We managed fine.

The owner, who also runs the fashion shop downstairs, was so friendly. We felt comfortable with her and will certainly return. The little holiday apartment in Modehaus Kübitz sleeps up to three, and its tasteful, cozy furnishings made it feel like home. The kitchen is very well equipped, the beds are super comfortable, and the living room is so inviting that we were happy to linger on the sofa in the evenings instead of heading back out to photograph the historic buildings in the beautiful old town. You’re right in the pedestrian zone, so everyday sounds come through the window: church bells, shops and restaurants opening in the morning, and people chatting in the evening. That’s part of the apartment’s atmosphere, too. There’s plenty nearby, including restaurants, pretty boutiques, grocery stores, Arab shops, cafés, Italian ice cream, and the weekly market.
