We were surprised and happy that we could switch from a road-facing room to one with a wonderful river and castle view. The new room was so much better, bright, quiet, and peaceful. CNN was a nice extra for a news junkie like me. The restaurant isn’t going to win Michelin stars, but the wine list has an impressive number of local bottles. The house white by the glass was delicious, as was the draft Pils-style beer. Parking out front and the dog-friendly policy are both handy, since those can be hard to find in the old town. We’d happily come back. The front desk greeting, though, wasn’t especially warm.

The room was large and clean, and the river view was lovely. Good price, too.

Dogs are welcome for a reasonable 10 euros per night. The rooms were comfortable, the staff friendly, and the river views were nice. It’s well located, and we’ll come back.

The restaurant serves good food at okay prices. It’s a nice hotel, just a few meters from the River Elbe and about a five-minute walk from Meissen.

They can provide gluten-free baguette on request. The rooms are nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great hotel.
