Citypension Melsungen

Great!

The location was the one bright spot: right in central Melsungen, quiet, and close to the R1/Fulda cycle path. The single room had very little space, so €45 didn’t feel justified. It was dirty, especially the shared bathroom, and the ceiling didn’t insulate well enough for the 2°C weather. The heating also wasn’t working.

Everything is within easy walking distance, including the charming little shops. The old town’s many historic half-timbered houses look lovely, especially with the streets lit up in the evening. The guesthouse is well placed and good value. Inside, the room is modern, full of natural light, and has very comfortable beds. The spacious bathroom has an easy-to-use shower, and the kitchen has what you need for either a short or longer stay.

The location is right in the center, and the price is unbeatable if you don’t care about the accommodation or bathroom quality. Otherwise, look elsewhere. The mattresses were awful, and I could feel every spring in my back. The rooms were filthy, some had no blinds or curtains, and there’s no private bathroom in the room. The shared bathrooms were practically unusable. The towels smelled strange, like they’d sat in the washing machine for 3 to 5 hours after washing.
