We slept wonderfully, thanks to the very comfortable beds, and even in the summer heat the apartment stayed pleasantly cool. The hostess was so warm and helpful, and shared great ideas for outings, including the Saar Loop and Saarburg. We felt at home in Merzig. The rooms were clean, cozy, and lovingly furnished, and the location made it easy to relax while still being right in town. I’d happily return and recommend it to anyone after a welcoming, well-kept guesthouse in Saarland.

Getting there and checking out were both easy, and the hosts were friendly and very attentive. The charming apartment was spotless and just a short walk from the pedestrian zone. We can wholeheartedly recommend Gästehaus Stadtmitte.

The courtyard has a lovely Tuscan feel, and the apartment is central, thoughtfully furnished, and very well equipped. The owners are incredibly nice. We’d definitely come back.

We’ve stayed here for years when visiting the lower Saar and always come away with fond memories. The little courtyard behind the house is a quiet spot to read in summer, shaded by a mulberry tree when it gets hot. Downtown Merzig is peaceful at night, so we sleep undisturbed. It’s right in the city center, with the main sights only a few minutes away on foot. The service is excellent, and the Heintz family are exceptionally helpful, keeping guests up to date on new sights and events in the lower Saar. You can park your car there, or use a public space within sight. We always book well in advance. - E. Heinrich
