For decades, this has been our summer base for Allgäu holidays. The property has two vacation apartments on a former farm, and the tractor is still in use. It sits by the Carl-Hirnbeinweg trail between Missen and Weitnau, between a herb garden and a lumberyard, with a natural stream running right through the grounds. It’s quiet and tucked away from the bustle. We hadn’t tried the nearby ski area at Hauchenberg before, since our stays had only been in summer. Update 2019: With all the snow this year, we could ski from the apartment to the lift and almost ski back to the apartment instead of going down into the valley. Amazing! What more could you ask for?

The apartment was cozy and had everything we needed, and bringing our dog was no problem. The host was really nice, friendly, and easy to deal with. We’d definitely stay again.
