We had a wonderful time at Alpenrose, right in the town center, and loved both the food and the service. The restaurant is set in a medieval building that was once part of a monastery, which gives it extra charm. We were four families, 13 people in all, for the first two evenings, then nine of us on the third. It's a great place for families. We tried all kinds of schnitzel, enjoyed the desserts, especially the apple strudel, and thought the game dishes were excellent. The people stood out most: the waitresses were lovely, and Emil, a Romanian waiter, looked after us each time and gave us the best recommendations. We'd recommend Alpenrose to anyone spending a few days in Mittenwald. Warm welcome, friendly people, wonderful atmosphere, and great food. Don't miss it!

We only came for a meal, not an overnight stay. The food was delicious, but the warm, patient service really made it special. The staff were welcoming and helpful, particularly with a member of our party who uses a wheelchair, and they were patient with the menu recommendations. Thanks again, we'd definitely recommend it.

We ate there on five of our six vacation days, skipping only the first day, and it became my absolute favorite place. I'd never had a favorite restaurant before, and I'm from Greece! We tried most of the meat dishes, and each one seemed better than the last. The sauerkraut was creamy and delicious, the best in the region, and we always ordered it as a side. We also had the garlic soup twice and apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. I'd suggest trying dishes that don't come with french fries, since traditional options like potato dumplings and kasspaetzles are worth tasting. The sauerkraut, garlic soup, and strudel are musts. The vanilla ice cream was amazing too. Thanks for the amazing service, guys! We're definitely coming back this summer!
