The balcony has a lovely view, but the busy street out front and railway line behind the building make it noisy. Parking is available, though the space is very tight, and the upstairs bedroom windows can't be darkened. Inside, the kitchen chairs were stained, the sofa cushions uncomfortable, and we even found hairs in the refrigerator. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly either: beard hairs were on the sink, with other hairs on the floor and in the bathtub. At first I was pleased to see a shoehorn on the hallway coat rack, but that didn't last. We stayed in the Alpenfreund 1 holiday apartment on the first floor in July, and these are my thoughts nearly four months later. What should have been a nice holiday became an unpleasant argument between the landlord and me. I lost a lot of money, and after what happened, trying to put things right felt pointless. We left after two days.

The balconies look out over the Karwendel, and that view is hard to top. We live just one street away and will recommend the apartments again when friends come to visit. For our wedding guests, we booked two of the three holiday apartments. They were very well equipped, and the larger one gave our small wedding group a good place to share a snack and spend a cozy evening. We felt completely at ease during our week here and would love to return. The place was cozy, stylish, and very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen. It's great for a stay with a child: there's a travel cot, highchair, games, and books. The landlord was incredibly friendly and helpful. We booked directly through the landlord's website.

The view is magnificent, and we'd happily return anytime. We stayed in the penthouse at Alpenfreund and were extremely satisfied. Everything was spotless on arrival and worked perfectly, and the kitchen was exceptionally well stocked, with paper towels, aluminum foil, and baking paper. The landlord was very accommodating. Parking spaces are a little tight, but parking properly makes it no problem, even with our SUV. The main road is nearby, though the traffic is minimal, and it didn't bother us since we're not overly sensitive to noise. Mittenwald isn't exactly a big city. I've already recommended the place to others.
