Leonardo Hotel Moenchengladbach

Breakfast was amazing, but the hygiene around the cups was the worst part of the hotel for me. Every cup I found, both in the room and by the complimentary tea machine, had a strong, unpleasant smell. It was so bad I felt as though I could sense the saliva of the guests who had used them. In 14 years of business travel, I haven't encountered worse hygiene with utensils. I stayed on the 6th floor, and my two colleagues were on the 3rd, where they found the same issue with different cups. We had already booked three rooms for this business trip, but we won't be booking again, and I wouldn't recommend the hotel to colleagues because of this. I'm also not sure which government body inspects hotel hygiene in Germany. I'd strongly suggest that the government inspector or Leonardo group hygiene inspector check this and report back. I'd be glad to update this review if the issue is addressed and I stay here again on a business trip.

The mattresses need replacing. Some bathrooms should have showers instead of bathtubs to suit senior guests. Fridge bars and safe deposit boxes should be installed.

There are lots of breakfast choices, and you can get complimentary coffee by reception all day, which is a nice touch. The hotel is well placed near the city center, with convenient parking. Rooms are spacious and tidy, although the lighting could be better. You can choose whether to have your room cleaned daily, and the front desk is staffed around the clock if you need something. A good option for a short visit or business trip.

The room was spacious, clean, and even came with a refrigerator. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, with direct buses to the central station. The young man on the overnight front desk was incredibly kind and helped me a lot. I really appreciate it and would strongly recommend this hotel.
