The hosts made us feel so welcome, and the food was fresh, hot and served with real care. We enjoyed it so much we came back twice in three days, which probably says it all. I’d absolutely recommend it, but keep in mind it’s not suitable for vegetarians or vegans.

It was the best food we had during our five days in the area. This small, traditional-looking place is run by a Belgian couple, and the Belgian and German dishes were prepared beautifully. The food was unbelievably good, and the service was friendly and attentive. The menu is on the short side, but there’s something for everyone, and that may be why the quality is so high. The wine list is limited too, though the choices are excellent and reasonably priced.

We went for dinner and really enjoyed the schnitzels. The service was great, and getting there by car from Monschau’s old centre was easy.
