Hotel Restaurant Graf Rolshausen

It's a historic building with old-fashioned rooms and decor, which fits the experience. What you see is what you get, so don't come expecting modern luxury. The bathrooms are a little too small.

We enjoyed our night here, and I'd be happy to return. The hotel sits in a historic building in the lovely Monschau old town, which made staying there feel special. Our room hadn't been renovated recently, but it was comfortable, quiet, and well cared for. Dinner in the attractive cellar restaurant was enjoyable, and breakfast was excellent. One thing I noticed: staff seemed to give fluent German speakers a warmer welcome.

Parking is quite a way off, and the street is closed to cars so you can't get close to the hotel. Our room was okay, though it was a bit noisy and creaky, and there was no air conditioning. The service was good, and we still had a pleasant stay.

We slept poorly because of the creaky floor and voices carrying through the building late at night, so light sleepers may struggle. Still, our room was very clean and had a large bathroom. The classic-looking hotel may seem old, but the staff were helpful and friendly, even though communicating in English was a little difficult. Breakfast was great, with lots of bread and cereal to choose from.
