Hotel Drei Rosen

The room itself was nice, but this was the worst experience I’ve had. I’ve stayed in cheap motels before, but this felt like a nightmare. A night that usually costs 60 Euros was 109 Euros because there was an event in the area. It was almost 90 degrees outside, and there was no air conditioning in the room or building. We left the windows and balcony door open hoping for a breeze, but it barely helped. With no fly screens, we were fighting bugs, mosquitoes, and wasps too. There wasn’t an iron in the room, and getting food or water was difficult. The hotel had none, not even vending machines. There was one bottle of water in the room “free,” but that wasn’t enough for two people in that heat. The nearby stores were closed because it was Sunday. We booked two nights, but I left the next day because I couldn’t take it anymore.

The rooms are spacious, new, and good. The hotel management, though, doesn’t seem to understand hospitality or what a hotel should provide. There’s no breakfast, and not even a coffee machine for guests, in the room or elsewhere. The reason given was that not enough rooms were occupied. Am I looking at this the wrong way? A pity.

We hadn’t planned our arrival, but had a great time. The host was really polite, and the rooms were clean and well equipped. There’s a bus station and supermarket nearby, though not much else to do around there.

This is my preferred place to stay in and around Moosburg an der Isar. The price for the quality is the best in the region. It’s five years old but still feels new, with big, very clean rooms. The host family run the privately owned hotel and are really nice.
