The location made this a great place to stay, and I left really happy with my visit. The breakfast was excellent, and the artisan chocolates at reception are worth trying. I liked them enough that I’ll be buying more. Thanks to the owners and staff.

We ended up here by chance after our car engine broke down, and the hotel was a real bright spot in the middle of a stressful situation. The family who runs it welcomed us warmly, gave us two spacious rooms, and invited us to have dinner in the restaurant. The portions were generous, the food was excellent, and the dessert was especially delicious. They kept checking in on us and did everything they could to make us comfortable while we waited for news from the garage and insurance. Since our German wasn’t very good, they called the garage and car rental company for us and translated. Taxis weren’t running that evening, so their daughter Jules quickly drove us to the garage, and later a staff member helped us get all the way to Gißen, where it was located. We couldn’t have asked for better help getting back on the road. Jules also makes homemade chocolates, which were delicious and well worth trying.

The outside looks modest, but the rooms inside are beautiful. The food was very nice too. I’d recommend it.
