Getting into central Münster took 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic, so the outskirts location wasn’t very convenient. The hotel itself is nice and modern, with clean, basic rooms. The bathroom was especially clean and had been newly renovated. Breakfast was basic but complimentary, and the front desk staff were friendly.

My husband, father-in-law, and I booked two rooms for one night. We had to leave early the next day for a doctor’s appointment and couldn’t check out in time. I thought we’d pay for another night and stay another night in Münster. When we returned, we were told the hotel had contacted my husband’s mother, without even asking us for our number, and got her permission to pack all our private belongings into bags. Two bags belonging to my father-in-law went missing. When we asked them to check again, the woman did, but very unpleasantly. She even blamed my father-in-law, saying he forgets a lot. His memory was the reason for our visit to the university hospital in Münster. He’s only 62 and clear-minded. When we asked about cameras, the woman said they didn’t have any recording. I left Münster feeling very upset and sad. Even if the room was needed, they should have informed the person staying there. I would have come back if necessary. No law allows a hotel to go through your private things, remove them, then blame his mother and manipulate the situation. It was deeply unprofessional and disrespectful.

We stayed here years ago for a tattoo convention, and sadly the place has gone downhill since then. The elevator was out, so we had to haul our suitcases up three floors. The hallway smelled damp, like a wet dog. It was so hot in the room, with no fan or air conditioning, that we had to leave the windows open, and the mosquitoes feasted on us. Breakfast was okay, but I doubt we’ll come back.

I’ve stayed at 68 hotels in Germany on business trips, and this is the best breakfast I’ve had this year so far. It really makes my day.
