Hotel Jellentrup

We felt very welcome at Hotel Jellentrup. The staff were polite and friendly, greeted us with smiles, and spoke English without any trouble. Free parking and wifi were included, too. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh coffee, tea, juice, and more. Our spotless room was well maintained, with a comfortable, good quality bed and handy extras like complimentary water, tea, coffee, and cookies. The furnishings looked new or were in very good condition. It’s a sweet little hotel within walking distance of Münster's old city center. We had a really pleasant stay and recommend it as a good base for exploring Münster.

The family run hotel made us feel very welcome, especially the manager. The breakfast room is small, but the food selection and quality were excellent, better than at some pricier places we've stayed. There’s no bar, though they do have an “honesty fridge” stocked with chilled wine, beer, and other drinks. Take what you like, write it down, and pay later, a nice touch. Our room was a good size and spotlessly clean, with a balcony that was lovely for having a glass of wine during the mini heatwave. The hotel has free wifi and we got a good signal. There’s no air conditioning, but the ceiling fan worked surprisingly well. It’s a comfortable tourist style hotel, around a 15 minute walk from the city centre. Plan your route and you can pass the Botanical Gardens and the grand Schloss. The road outside heads into the city and gets busy at rush hour, but the area is generally quiet enough for sleeping at night. The car park is small, though you can park on the street.

A lovely family run place, super clean, with a great choice at breakfast. It’s excellent value for money. It should rate at least four stars, but without an elevator it apparently won’t score enough points.

The hotel is run by a family, and the staff are friendly. Rooms are comfortable, too. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the historic centre, and very close to the University Botanical Gardens. I’ll look for a room here again next time I’m back in Münster.
