Hotel Ambiance Rivoli

Harras station is about 30 seconds away, making it easy to get anywhere, and there are supermarkets and good food close by. The rooms were small but very clean and tidy, including the bathroom. Service was friendly and helpful: they printed a train ticket for us and stored our luggage before our late-night train. We heard a bit of noise from other rooms in the morning as people got ready to leave, but that's not unusual. We skipped breakfast, though they had a buffet for about 15€ per person. A great little hotel for affordable accommodation in Munich.

For a basic hotel during Oktoberfest, this was fine, and having public transport so close was a real plus. My main issues were the limited, uncomfortable pillows and the lack of air conditioning. Some parts of the hotel weren't especially clean, though overall it was acceptable. I was initially concerned that check-in being right next door, with a key to enter the building where we stayed, might be inconvenient. It turned out to be quite easy.

The best thing is how easy it is to get to public transport. The breakfast was pretty okay too, and I liked that there were lots of big pillows, which many hotels seem to lack. The room photos look much nicer online than in person, but given the price, I'm not really surprised. You get what you pay for :)

The breakfast was good, and the server was very helpful. The receptionist was polite and handled my complaint well. But I won't come back. We booked from wednesday until tuesday. On the second day, an empty bottle and dirty glass were left in the room, and the red bed cover had been balled up and tucked beside the sofa. The same bottle and glass were still there on my third night, and the carpet was dusty and never cleaned. After I complained, they moved us to another room, but it smelled of cigarette smoke. During my four days at the hotel, the dust, dirty carpet, and cigarette smell made my asthma flare up. I checked out and left my sister to use the rest of our booking.
