Hotel Splendid-Dollmann

The room was really cute for one person, clean, and tidied every day. Mine even had a tiny balcony with a little table and chair. There’s no fridge in the room, but the staff let me store some things in theirs. The walls are a bit thin, so you can hear people locking and unlocking doors early and late, though it didn’t bother me. I skipped breakfast, which is available for a fee. Great spot, with tram and metro stops five minutes away and the Old Town an easy walk.

We love this part of München and have stayed at Sitar before. You are much better, and the staff were very friendly, but you don’t seem to take pride in the hotel. There was a piece of wood on the floor and scratches everywhere. There’s no AC, which was the main issue. The staff changed every day, and after we’d been away in Austria for two days, nothing had been done. Even something simple like putting the water glasses back properly and leaving a fresh bottle of water was missed. We’ll be back in München next midsummer, and might stay with you.

I slept better than ever in that bed, it was pure heaven. The breakfast was spectacular, full and delicious, and a lovely way to start the day. The hotel also has a wonderfully peaceful, almost magical atmosphere, with a romantic feel. Its location made it easy to explore nearby, while still feeling like a quiet escape. The staff were the real standout, kind, attentive, and always making sure guests felt welcome and looked after. Nothing disappointed me. Everything went beyond what I expected, and I’d happily recommend it for a memorable stay. 💖

The hotel is in a lovely quiet spot in Lehel, between the Englischer Gartens, the River Isar and the Alt Stadt. At what felt like full price, though, our room needed some attention and a proper deep clean. The carpet looked quite dirty, and it was missing basics like a minibar and kettle. Some of the workmanship also felt careless, with the skirting board bolted to the wall and the marks left uncovered.
