The Base Munich

I lived at The Base Munich for over a year and had a really great time. The rooms are bright, modern and well designed, with everything you need when you arrive: a TV, fridge, kitchenette and microwave with grill function. Some rooms also have a dishwasher. For a longer stay, I’d bring extra cups, dishes or towels. The bathroom and shower felt surprisingly spacious for the apartment size, and were very modern. The shared spaces were a big plus. There’s a well-equipped gym, good work areas, a billiard table and a TV room, while your own apartment gives you privacy whenever you want it. The whole place was clean and well maintained. The team were all friendly, helpful and easy to talk to. They regularly put on grill parties and movie nights, which made meeting residents from Munich and around the world easier and helped me expand my circle. The people were a big reason I stayed longer than planned. Things can happen, but there was always a good solution, and The Base kept improving while I was there. I really enjoyed my time and made many friends.

I’ve stayed here both long term, for 3 months, and short term, for 2 weeks, and both stays were great. The rooms were very clean, the bathroom was nice, and having a TV and kitchenette made the place feel like home on a longer visit. The community made the experience special. Staff sometimes organize optional events, and I’ll miss the movie nights. They were really nice, especially Valeria, who helped us a lot with bookings and extensions. I also used the gym, which has most of what you need, and the co-working space now and then. The location is good, though it could be better. There are buses to the Ubahn, but I prefer biking. You can also use car sharing or electric scooters.

Everyone I met was friendly and went out of their way to help, whether with local tips or just checking that I had what I needed. Huge shoutout to Valeria for making our first time in Germany the absolute best. She really went the extra mile and deserves a raise! Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff were so kind and welcoming from the moment I walked in. My room was cozy, super clean and had everything I needed. The bed was so comfortable I slept like a baby, and I appreciated the free water and plenty of outlets in useful spots. It felt like a welcoming, comfortable place, and I’d definitely book The Base again.

What made The Base Munich stand out was the community, among both the staff and the guests and residents. It felt like somewhere to belong, more than just a hotel. Valeria was a standout: professional, cordial and incredibly helpful, with thoughtful recommendations that made our trip unforgettable. She’s a big reason I’d like to return. I stayed for a few days while visiting Oktoberfest and exploring the city, and the stay was convenient, comfortable and accommodating. The staff welcomed us, the room was clean, and the amenities were well thought out. Thanks to Valeria and the whole Base team. I look forward to coming back.
