The soups and cakes are great too, and lunch was tasty. Service was fantastic. Food preferences are personal, of course, but I’d happily stop in often for a quick meal if I lived nearby. If you’re in the area, I recommend it.

We only stopped for coffee. It was okay, and the staff were friendly and spoke good English. The neighbourhood is quiet and pleasant, with a good spot to photograph the steam train.

The food was exceptionally good, with plenty of choice, and breakfast was included in our four-day stay with friends. We had a clean, tidy apartment in a guesthouse with a sauna. Everyone was warm and attentive when welcoming us and serving our meals. There’s lots to see around Neudorf, including the Soup Museum and the Huss-Karzl workshop, where you can make your own incense cones. The nearby ski slope is another option, and the Fichtelberg cable car is a great alternative to driving to Oberwiesenthal. We’d gladly come back.
