Those cream puffs were amazing, and the service was really friendly. It's a lovely little café, decorated with such care. We'd happily come back if we're in the area again.

Everything was fresh and tasty, and the service was excellent. We had a delicious waffle and a nice hot drink for our Advent coffee break today. We'll definitely return!

The cakes are homemade, fresh, and as good as you'd get from a pastry shop. The waffles feel home-made, only better, and the generously sized cream puff is light and airy. During the season it gets very busy, likely because there are so few places of this quality between Schlüttsiel and Westerland, so I'd strongly recommend reserving. The new owners are friendly and competent, and it's great that dogs are explicitly welcome. The large hall still needs renovation, as it did under the previous owners, so the ambiance loses a star. Still, it's lovely to have the place open again. I hope the owners stay longer this time, and wish them every success. Looking forward to many more enjoyable visits.

We tried three slices when we dropped into Café Deichtraum on a whim: marzipan, Black Forest, and eggnog. Each was homemade and delicious, and I especially liked that none was too sweet. The coffee was good too. There's a big choice, with five cakes, nine tortes, waffles, and cream puffs, plus a few hot dishes such as soup and tarte flambée. Friendly service and good prices as well. We were only on vacation, but we'd come back if we were in the area again. Definitely recommend this café.
