Crowne Plaza Düsseldorf-Neuss by IHG

The pool and sauna were highlights, and the staff were welcoming and professional. Check-in went smoothly. My room was clean, spacious and well maintained, with comfortable bedding and a decent range of amenities, though it did feel a little old. The air conditioning needs an update. It was noisy and struggled to keep the temperature steady, which affected my comfort. It wasn't a deal-breaker, but I expected a more modern, efficient system at a hotel of this standard. I'd consider staying again, especially if the air conditioning is upgraded. A few improvements could make this a top-tier stay.

Getting here by car is convenient, parking is easy, and at €65 a night it’s a very good deal. I stayed here a few years ago during the COVID period and came back in October. This time I got a corner room with a nice view, and some renovations had made the hotel feel fresher and more modern. Breakfast isn't a huge spread, but it has what you need, including fresh fruit, bacon, bread and cheese. A solid, comfortable stay for a reasonable price.

It's a dated hotel, but still alright, with a nice little swimming pool. Check your room for small issues, like a loose showerhead in the bathroom.

This was one of my worst experiences at an IHG hotel. We're IHG members, but the young blonde German man at reception was awful and gave us no information. When we asked about adding breakfast, he said he couldn't do it and that we'd have to go to the restaurant the next day. We were charged 21 per adult there. I saw on the screen that it would have been 18 if we'd booked a day ahead. Then there was the pool. I've never seen a 4-star hotel give more than half its pool to non-guests for swimming lessons for hours, with very noisy children. There was hair all over the water and it made me feel gross. This must be a joke. I'll never visit this hotel again.
