I’m so grateful my children have the AWO. They love going there, and it gives them a place to play, learn, and just be kids. Jacqueline and Kevin always make time to listen, whether it’s the children or us parents. I’m delighted with the care and advice they give, and I wholeheartedly recommend the AWO. The children have a great time at AWO Further and are looked after really well. The team is so friendly, offers a lot, and always makes you feel welcome. I can only say good things about the place. The music starts every Thursday, and Sundays are often noisy too. There are parties and fires that send up clouds of smoke, and warnings or requests to be considerate get ignored. These so-called social workers show absolutely no respect for the neighbors in the residential area. What an antisocial bunch. It’s infuriating. When will this madness stop?!
The bowling alley is a great option for children's birthday parties, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the business succeeds. The tenants are friendly and clearly trying to broaden what they offer, but they’re dealing with the same problems as other corner pubs these days. It doesn’t really have that old dancing-pub feel anymore.
The food was all right, at least. But anyone expecting the reopening to bring back how the Hof/Schwoof was 15 or 20 years ago will be disappointed. On Saturday, dozens of 14- to 16-year-olds were there for a disco fox class, while a few people in their 50s and 60s sat at the bar. Without the teenagers, the place would have been almost empty. It’ll probably close again soon anyway.
