Jade&Jabo

I stayed for three months. The room was nice and new, and the location near the S Bahn and Rhein was good. Staff were helpful and nice. But the fire alarm went off during the night regularly, several times a month and sometimes even in a week. The room wasn’t properly clean, especially under the bed, so I had to clean it myself and still pay the 125 EUR “cleaning fee.” It took me over a month to get my deposit back after moving out, which didn’t seem proper. The area isn’t especially nice despite the river nearby, and the smell from Kläranlage was often bothersome.

We extended our room in the morning before leaving on a business trip to another city. When we got back around 11:30, the key didn’t work, probably because the worker hadn’t renewed it properly. We called the number on the hotel business card eight times before someone answered. He was rude and unwilling to come help. After we insisted, a worker came over but stayed unprofessional and blamed us for calling late at night. Their carelessness created the problem, yet they weren’t willing to help or fix it. If you’re arriving after 8pm, consider another hotel. This was probably the worst hotel experience I’ve had, and I wouldn’t recommend it. They’re unprofessional.

The room’s location was terrible, and the building is very run down. The shower had disgusting mold, and the bed was very small and uncomfortable, with awful pillows. The only decent point might be the location, about a 12-minute walk from one of the stations, though it isn’t a central one. Very disappointing.

We stayed here while exploring Köln and Düsseldorf. The apartment was clean and freshly furnished, and late check-in worked well because the key was left in the mailbox. A great place for a cheap stay, with excellent value for the price.
