Congress Hotel Mercure Nürnberg an der Messe

There were smiles everywhere, from the breakfast staff to a housekeeper I passed. The front desk team were fantastic too, patient, cheerful, and glad to help, even when we had them take team photos under the band social media manager's strict direction. It was genuinely nice being around so many cheerful people.

This was our second year here, and we may well return next year. The hotel sits right by a gorgeous park with lovely lakes and stunning views. Our room was quiet and the bedding comfortable. Breakfast was superb, especially the salmon and Prosecco, and it runs quite late. The large breakfast room has different seating options, and there's a bar open at night. There's also a sauna downstairs. My only complaint was the mobile reception, which was almost nonexistent in some parts of the lobby and bar.

The room was cold, and when I asked for a fix, they said it was summer, even though it was a rainy day with temperatures below 13°C outside. This is one of the worst four-star hotels I've ever stayed in. Thank God the company paid, not me. It's a very old hotel that urgently needs remodeling. Horrible experience.

The hotel is by the park and a short distance from the Messe. Everything else was very good, though I had a problem with a lamp in the room every year.
