ibis Nuernberg City am Plaerrer

Getting here was easy: the hotel was close to the old town, just a few minutes' walk, and easy to find. There's a nearby U-Bahn linking to the airport and most city stations. Check-in and checkout were smooth, and the staff were very helpful. Our room was bright, clean and cosy, just right for our stay.

The breakfast was sufficient, though there was no ketchup or Nürnberger Sausages. The location was good, near the U-Bahn and old town, the rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly.

We went for a long weekend in mid-November 2025, mainly to catch the opening of the famous Christkindlesmarkt. The Plärrer U-Bahn station is just steps away, making the trip from the airport a breeze. We walked to the Old Town (Altstadt) in about 10-15 minutes and strolled to the Christkindlesmarkt in the Hauptmarkt every evening. Even in the cold, it was pleasant and easy. The location is definitely the hotel's best feature. Staff were friendly and professional, and check-in was quick. It's a standard ibis, so you know what you're getting: a basic, compact room that was very clean, with a comfortable “Sweet Bed” and surprisingly good soundproofing. It worked for sleeping and showering, and breakfast was a standard Ibis buffet. This isn't a luxury or charming German hotel, but it was a clean, safe, comfortable base for exploring Nuremberg. Since we spent most of the weekend out in the city, it met our needs well. I'd consider staying again for the price and convenience.
