1/2/sleep Hostel Nürnberg Messe

The place was quiet on a weeknight at the end of July, and we only saw a couple of other people. We slept really well; the room was a good size, the beds comfortable, and there was a sink in the room. The shared bathroom was fine. We booked a few days ahead on booking.com, paid just over £20 for a twin room, and that seemed like a great deal. It’s a bit far out, but the bus stop is about a 5-minute walk away, and there’s a tram or U-Bahn too, I think, though we didn’t use them. There are a few parking spaces at the hostel and lots of street parking. I think the street spots are for residents from 9-20h, so they were fine to use overnight.

We stayed at 1/2 Sleep Hostel Nürnberg Messe, booked through Booking.com, after Google sent us to this page. The reviews had horrified me, but our stay was great. Everything was super clean and quiet at night, and the mattresses weren’t thin. We were on the third floor. The self check-in went smoothly, and the subway station is very close, with a 10-minute ride downtown. There’s a kitchen and dining area in the main hall, and parking was available. The one issue was Wi-Fi: my phone couldn’t connect during the day, though it worked at night. My friend’s phone connected without any trouble.

It’s a good place to stay, though the toilets could be a little bigger.

We had to move out because the room smelled awful, and we weren't given any refund. The place felt very basic and a bit dodgy, with the downstairs door left open and people hanging around.
