We loved how quiet it was at night, even though our room faced the street. The rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent and well priced, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Burghotel das Original is perfectly placed in the Altstadt, right beside the Kaiserburg. Keep an eye out for the lovely red squirrels at the back.

A pleasant, comfortable hotel in a central spot, with lovely staff and a very good buffet breakfast. Our room had a balcony, and there’s also an enclosed area where you can sit outside. I’d definitely come back.

We stayed for a week and had a great time. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the nights were very quiet. The hotel is in the old town, close to Nuremberg’s beautiful sights and just steps from the castle. It’s also a 10-15 minute walk from the main train station. Highly recommended.

Great location, only a few minutes’ walk from the Christmas Market. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were clean. Breakfast is optional and convenient, though a bit pricey. The beds were a little hard, but not terrible.

The staff were so welcoming and looked after us really well, whether we wanted fresh eggs at breakfast, a wheat beer during the day, or an extra towel. That’s why I wholeheartedly recommend the castle hotel. The location is unbeatable, around a 5-minute uphill walk to the castle and a pleasant 5-10 minute downhill stroll to the old town. The rooms are a bit dated, and there’s a persistent stagnant-water smell in the bathroom, but the beds are comfortable.
