Movenpick Hotel Nurnberg Airport

The staff were lovely, and the food and drinks were very good. The bartender was a great guy, and the small bar and restaurant stay open until 1am and 10pm respectively. One staff member even called to check that my room was okay, and it was. The room itself was basic but clean, with a hot shower and a coffee machine. I stayed one night before an early flight home. The location is perfect, directly opposite the airport Departures entrance and about 100m from an S-Bahn station, with fast trains into central Nuremberg. Still, I don’t see how this qualifies as a 4-star hotel. The design is outdated, the decor worn, and there are very few amenities. It needs a major revamp. Thanks again to all the staff.

The location has enormous potential, directly across from the airport with quick access to the city, but it feels wasted. It could be a polished flagship property. Instead, it comes across as a tired, poorly managed stopover hotel resting on an iconic name. I hope management takes this as a wake-up call. I picked Mövenpick Nürnberg Airport expecting the warmth and standards the brand is known for, but my experience felt shockingly far from a 4-star hotel. The property looked neglected, with worn furniture, stained carpets, and dated design. There was no minibar, only an empty mini fridge, and the room had no robes, iron, or coffee machine. I was also charged an “incidentals” deposit despite the room lacking the amenities I’d expect at this price or rating. The worst issue came during my bath, when the water pressure suddenly dropped. I was left wet and unable to rinse properly. The front desk said I’d have to wait until the next day for a repair person, which was outrageous for any hotel. Only after I insisted did they offer a room change, but it was a smaller, uglier twin room. There was no apology, compensation, or other goodwill gesture. The Wi-Fi, supposedly standard, barely worked for sending photos or doing anything beyond basic browsing.

The location is excellent, with the train station just a couple of minutes away and good connections into the city. Over the past three years I’ve become a HUGE fan of Movenpick hotels and stay at one whenever I get the chance. This stay was amazing and welcoming too. If I get the opportunity, I’d love to come back as often as life allows.

We’ll definitely go back. The location was convenient and great, and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff at the front desk and in the breakfast room were caring and wonderful. The breakfast buffet was Amazing.
