Five Reasons Hotel & Hostel

I spent three nights in a double room. It was nice and clean, though the light fixtures were low. The shared bathrooms were clean as well. Since the street is busy, I could hear the U-Bahn, cars, and people outside during the night. Breakfast was okay, and I liked being able to use the shared kitchen.

The hostel’s showers were among the best I’ve used. They’re roomy, with hot water, good pressure from the big sunflower showerhead, and a little rack for toiletries. My room was neat, the metal bunk beds felt sturdy, and each bed had a nightlight, power point, and small shelf for electronics or snacks. There was a decent-sized locker for everyone. The hostel is clean and well kept, and everything worked. In the kitchen there’s a kettle, oven, microwave, fridge, utensils, cutlery, and enough places to sit and eat. Reception sells drinks and snacks and has lots of comfortable seating. Out back, there’s a terrace or deck with tables and chairs, and the luggage room came in handy. The staff were kind and helpful whenever I needed directions or had questions. Don’t forget to send the hostel your selfie so they can put it on their wall. My first impression was how close it is to the ubahn station, one stop from HBF, beside beautiful old towers on a cobbled street. Restaurants and grocery stores are just a couple hundred meters away, and the aldstadt is close too, with cathedrals, market squares, and the castle.

I spent one night in an all-female room and felt safe and comfortable. Everything was super clean and tidy.

It’s close to the Christkindlmart and Jakobsplatz, but far enough away that the lights and noise won’t bother you if you go to bed early. The place was very clean and the staff were great. I was really happy with my stay!
