We stayed for a week with our six-year-old son and loved every moment. The couple running the place were kind, friendly, and attentive. Oberammergau was a superb base for our daily outings: we did lots of hiking and cable car rides, and Austria is just around the corner. The König card included many activities free or at a reduced price, so it really paid off. The apartment was spacious, with plenty of room for our son to play in his own room, and a big wardrobe. Having a washing machine and dryer was very helpful. There are two balconies, and the main one had a pastoral view of the Alps that we enjoyed in the evenings. Breakfast was another highlight for us cheese lovers: a big selection of delicious cheeses every day, plus lots of sausages, fresh buns, mini croissants, and great coffee. We stuck to the cheese. Our one complaint was the internet. Despite what the advertisements said, there was no connection in the apartment. This was a particular problem for us, since our own service didn’t work in the area, so we had to pay extra to use the only local network available. If they fix that, we’ll definitely come back. An unacceptable hotel. We stayed for two days, and the man was rude from the start, even threatening to sue us if we posted negative comments. Some of the advertised facilities weren’t there at all. The stairs were narrow and dangerous for children, and there’s a cemetery opposite the hotel. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

They took 45€ to 58€ from me. I spoke with reception, but their English wasn’t very good. The road was covered in snow; one route was closed and, although the other was open, they couldn’t guarantee it. We couldn’t reach the place, so we had to cancel the reservation, but they charged me anyway. Be careful with their policy.
