The owners were a very nice couple, just as other reviews said, and I have nothing else negative to say about them. The house, though, suits a family with one or two children much better than four adults. The bedrooms are arranged in a row, so anyone in the back has to walk through the front room, even if the person there is still in bed. I would have slept on the living room sofa, but the sofa bed was broken. The Wi-Fi was too slow, or sometimes absent, to use for online services. I'd rate the holiday home 3.5 stars, since some of what I read in the description wasn't there.

It's an affordable, spacious place with a very good setup, and it was clean and comfortable too. The natural, quiet surroundings feel typical of the Harz region. I'd recommend it any time of year, especially for families with children.
10/10
The hiking trails are lovely, and there's a ski resort 5 km away. The place is cozy and clean, with friendly landlords, in a quiet, central spot in the Harz Mountains.
10/10
The owners were attentive and friendly, and the holiday home was pleasant and fully furnished. There are great hiking opportunities nearby.
