Germina Apart

Restaurants and a bakery are an easy walk away, and the central location makes planning outings simple. Our "Germina Apart" accommodation (1.2 Ruppberg) was furnished well and suited two people. The building had scaffolding up for painting, which meant some noise and let us see the painter working from inside. We would have appreciated being told about it beforehand. Cleaning also needs more attention. The apartment looked clean on the surface, but the corners and kitchen drawers hadn't been properly cleaned. It really needs a deep clean.

The apartment was clean and very well equipped, and its more than 90 square meters gave the five of us plenty of room. We booked the large "Großer Beerberg" apartment with three bedrooms. If it gets remodeled someday, a second toilet would be useful for five or six people.

We had a comfortable bed and a well-equipped kitchen in the high Möst area. The holiday apartment was very nice, and the bathroom was clean and pleasant. The windows could use a proper cleaning 😏 Thanks very much.

The short break was lovely in many ways, but it ended with a bitter aftertaste. The apartment was spacious, modern, and practical, though it was noisy enough that we could hear conversations next door. Two room doors were extremely stiff. We also could have used a microwave and more cutlery for six people. There were only six sets, including just four coffee spoons. Renovation in the neighboring apartment brought drilling, sometimes from 7:30 a.m. The heating system then failed for 24 hours, leaving us without heat or hot water. We only heard about the problem after we'd already been without hot water for several hours. We were told we could shower at the local thermal baths for €8 per person. At check-in at the sports shop, the full amount was charged to our credit card because the landlord's deposit payment of 1/4 hadn't been recorded on the registration form. The sports shop staff were always helpful within their means and tried to sort it out over the phone. We emailed the landlords about the overpayment and the problems with hot water and construction noise. We got no reply for two days, then a short email saying the double payment would be refunded but no discount would be given for the inconvenience. Their response was: "Repairs have to be carried out, as the next guests also want a functioning apartment. We can't be held responsible for breakdowns." They offered 10% off our next booking instead. I doubt we'll use it, and getting that 10% refunded now would have felt fair. Guests aren't responsible for defective water heaters in the basement. Under any other rental agreement, we would have been entitled to a rent reduction in this situation. Unfortunately, that's how an otherwise lovely getaway was left.
