I only stayed one night, after snow blocked my hiking trail and I had to book a room. In the morning I had to take a cold shower, and all I got was an apology. The hairdryer was so filthy I didn’t even want to touch it. They said they had ordered new ones and apologized, but should have offered at least a small discount. The room was fine, though there were stains on the walls and carpet. I ate there that evening. The food was kind of decent, but 8 euros for a salad plate is extortionate.

Right in the heart of the city, with lots of nice restaurants nearby and great shopping, this is a perfect vacation spot. There isn't much of a view since it's in the middle of Oberstdorf, but the rooms are clean, well ventilated and a comfortable size for two. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the breakfast buffet was amazing. Totally recommend it. I'd love to visit again.

The location is good, the building is modern, and the welcome at reception was fine. Breakfast was a nice buffet, though there weren’t many vegan choices. Avoid rooms 501-503 if you want to sleep on the weekend: they’re right below the bar and kitchen, and the noise may surprise you. The owners, who didn’t sleep there that night, said the music came from somewhere else. It’s simply too expensive for a sleepless night.

We planned to stay for two days, but that turned into four. This place is paradise! It’s right in the heart of Oberstdorf, in Germany's downtown "pedestrian only" section, and within walking distance of one of six ski areas. The whole town has that classic Bavarian Alps feel. Our cute room had an enclosed deck looking out at the mountain, but the restaurant and bar were even better. Authentic German fare and brews, at prices more like a local tavern than an overpriced ski tourist trap. We were there in April, and the ski area was still open. Whitewater kayaking and hiking are second to none.
