We had a very disappointing experience with the “Am Zechengrund” guesthouse. I politely canceled in time because my child had a fever, but they still charged the full 100% cancellation fee and made no attempt to compromise. My messages went unanswered, then the host called on the day we were due to arrive, saying we should have taken out travel cancellation insurance. After that, an invoice came for the full amount because we hadn’t shown up. I was also repeatedly addressed as “Mr.” by mistake. Maybe it’s legally allowed, but it felt neither humane nor customer focused. I can’t recommend them.

The friendly, accommodating owners made our short break a pleasure. The rooms were spacious, nicely furnished, and cleaned every day. Breakfast was plentiful and attractively laid out. It’s also a great base for hikes, and we could leave the car parked.

The location is peaceful but still central, with everything easy to reach on foot. Our room was bright and spacious, with a great view, and the service was friendly and attentive.

The breakfast buffet was always nicely laid out, and the breakfast room felt cozy. We felt at home right away, and the rooms were lovely. There’s a rack by the entrance for wet shoes and a large fridge with all sorts of drinks. We’d gladly come back. Best, Werner

We found the rooms spacious and clean, and breakfast was tasty with fresh food. Someone recommended Pension am Zechengrund to us, and it lived up to that recommendation. The location is great for hiking and similar outings. We’ll definitely return.
