Gästehaus Strieth

The tidy rooms, tasty breakfast, and all the smiling faces made our whole week here feel perfect. I hope to come back someday.

The room smelled a little musty, and the beds were so soft that I didn’t find them comfortable. Breakfast was okay, and the homemade jam was a nice detail, though the juice glasses and yogurt bowls were all tiny. It gave the meal a bit of a dollhouse feeling. The spot is convenient for the Rhine and has a big parking lot, which is a plus. There’s a nostalgic quality to the place, but it won’t suit everyone. Fine for a night, though a few things could be improved. An average stay.

For an overnight stay, the small room was comfortable enough and had what I needed. Breakfast is available as well.

The setting is especially convenient, right next to the Brentano House, with a big parking lot and a bus stop almost outside. You can walk to the vineyards, Vollrads Castle, and Johannisberg Castle. We enjoyed the breakfast, which had both sweet and savory choices along with fruit. There’s a hallway refrigerator for guests, and drinks from another fridge can be paid for when leaving. Our room was spotless and nicely furnished, with thoughtful little touches and a nostalgic feel. The carpeting might not suit everybody, but it was fine for us. We felt at home in this family-run guesthouse, and the owner was friendly. We’ll definitely return.
