Pension-Allendorf

The breakfast had everything we needed before heading out for another bike ride, and the food was fantastic for anyone with a big appetite. We were greeted by a really lovely couple, and our rooms were spotless. There’s a fridge under the stairs stocked with everything you need, plus a garden bike box for two e-bikes with power outlets. The "Zehnthof" (tithe barn) is just a two-minute walk away. Great accommodation, good food, and nice people. If we’re in the area again, we know where we’ll stay.

The owners are nice, and the place was clean, but it was expensive for what you get. We were okay with staying one night, and were glad it was only that long. The rooms are very basic, with doors, pictures, and some furniture that look like they’re from the 60s. You have to leave by 10:30. The hallway stairs are extremely loud, and it’s impossible to use them without making a lot of noise. Breakfast wasn't appealing, so we went elsewhere. The hot chocolate was completely undrinkable and didn't taste like hot chocolate at all. When we mentioned that the machine seemed to be faulty, the man said, "Nobody ever orders it anyway." The latte was just about acceptable as regular coffee. The "Green Option" sign speaks for itself. I’ve rarely read such nonsense.

I expected a room, but found a small holiday apartment instead. It was cosy and very clean, and seems well suited for a longer stay. Parking is right by the house, and guests staying more than four days can use the kitchen. Breakfast was plentiful, with rolls, bread, muesli, eggs, and delicious coffee made fresh from the machine.

The hosts are very friendly, and the guesthouse has everything you’d expect. The rooms are clean and perfectly adequate, though not modern. There’s a carport about 50 meters away. I’ve stayed here several times and have been very satisfied each time. I’d book it again.
