The mill fits beautifully into the landscape, and the peaceful atmosphere makes you want to stay and relax. A lovely house in a lovely setting.

The mill itself is beautiful, and the furnishings and style are perfect. Still, you have to experience a mill holiday at least once, but this place really isn’t suitable for dogs. The stairs are unusual and not dog-friendly, and the general location doesn’t work well either. You have to walk the dogs along the road because some dogs don’t relieve themselves on the property. The garden also isn’t somewhere you can leave dogs alone, due to the risk of falling deadwood. There are proper fences only at the front and back, with gaps down both sides where dogs can get through. To me, parking on the property means opening the gate, driving in, and closing it, not parking in front of the building where you have to worry about being hit. The heating isn’t customer-friendly. After an early walk with the dogs, if you come back soaked, warm radiators are just a pipe dream. There are also inexplicable, nerve-wracking noises in the lovely eat-in kitchen that seem to come from the ground.

Everything is cozy and furnished with care at Catharina Windmill. The whole atmosphere feels dreamy. Such a beautiful place, and well worth experiencing.

The mill is beautiful, with great rooms and very good equipment. The front downstairs bedroom is a bit difficult, though. It’s very close to a road, so there’s a lot of noise, especially now that the road is being used as a detour for traffic heading toward Tönning. Walking the dog is difficult too. You have to go 200-300 meters along the roadside before reaching a quiet path. And during heavy rain, water pours down in torrents in front of the entrance. What a shame!
