Holiday Inn Osnabrueck by IHG

The gym was good, with water, plenty of towels, and cleaning supplies for wiping things down. The spa was nice and well stocked with towels, though it was busy. Staff were kind, and the location was great, but our room wasn’t very clean. We stayed for just one day and hoped to use the spa and gym. The spa robe and slippers weren’t in the room, and we only found out later that we had to ask for them. I wish someone had mentioned that at check-in. The bed and sheets were clean, but there was a large dirty spot on the floor, spiderwebs, and some odd spots on the sofa. For the price, that was disheartening. We were put in a room facing the street and told it would be quieter. There was still quite a bit of talking late at night, though no real car noise. It’s fine for a night, but they should clean the rooms better and be upfront about the spa and other amenities when you need to ask for items to use them.

I’ve spent over 250 nights a year on business in IHG hotels, and this is one of the best Holiday Inn stays I’ve had, if not the best. The hotel has recently been refurbished, and the rooms were spotless, fresh, and comfortable. The bar had delicious food and great beer, and breakfast was amazing, with fresh eggs cooked to order. The staff were wonderful, especially the young lady who checked us in. She spoke perfect English. Can’t wait to visit again.

The staff were very polite and helpful. As a solo work traveler, everything else was perfect for me too. I’d give it five stars if the room’s infotainment were more modern, so I could watch Netflix or YouTube on the TV. It said “apps,” but that feature was disabled and didn’t work. It probably won’t matter to other people, but I like to mention these things as genuine feedback.

For a business trip to Osnabruck, this was one of the best options I found. It’s a few minutes’ walk from the train station and less than 20 minutes on foot from downtown. Brian on staff was nice, and Shinna from the breakfast team was really helpful. I loved the sauteed mushroom!
